Congratulations to Steve McQueen and all who worked on 12 Years A Slave on winning the Oscar for Best Picture! Another well-deserved win! It’s a shame that it’s taken this long for an POC, in this case a black director and film be honored in this way. This was long overdue.

Congratulations to Lupita Nyong’o on her MUCH deserved Best Supporting Actress wins (SAG Awards and Critic’s Choice Awards) for 12 Years A Slave! I hope that she will carry this momentum into the Academy Awards and wins the Oscar she deserves for her spectacular performance in this movie.
